GV Prakash Kumar and Mamita Baiju starrer Rebel directed by Nikesh will be released at the box office. In tamil Nadu, the dominance of malayalam films has been increasing for the past one month. Manjummal Boys, in particular, was chasing tamil films at the box office. The film created a historic record by collecting more than Rs.50 crore in tamil Nadu alone. While the 2018 film collected Rs.2.20 crore as a record among the malayalam films released so far in tamil Nadu, Manjummal Boys shattered all that. Manjummal Boys was followed by a malayalam film named Premalu dubbed in Tamil. The movie also got a huge response among tamil fans and raked in the collections. Malayalam actress Mamita Baiju acted opposite GV in the film. The film is based on a true incident in a college in Kerala. The film was produced by Studio Green. The movie Rebel was released on march 22. As no other tamil film was released to compete with Rebel, the film was screened in various theatres. While the film collected only 1.09 crores in the first two days, it picked up at the box office by collecting more than Rs.91 lakhs on sunday alone.
