Bollywood actor dino morea is in the news these days for his latest release multi-starrer film Housefull 5. Amidst all this, he is under the investigation of the Enforcement Directorate in the Rs 65 crore money laundering investigation related to the alleged Mihi River Distilling Scam. On Friday, the ED raided 15 places including mumbai and Kerala. The premises searched include the residences of bollywood actor dino morea, BMC Assistant engineer Prashant Ramugade, and several contractors.
EOW has questioned
Dino Morea twice in the case. Let us tell you that actor dino morea, a close associate of shiv sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray, was earlier questioned twice by the EOW. ED is now reviewing the financial documents and other materials seized during the raid to trace the flow of illegal money. Let us tell you that this raid of ED has been conducted under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This action was taken after the case was registered by the Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of mumbai Police.
The EOW had earlier registered a case against 13 people, including BMC officials and contractors, in the Mithi River scam case. The ED suspects that tenders for hiring special dredging equipment were manipulated to benefit selected suppliers, causing huge losses to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The Mithi River, which flows through mumbai and falls into the Arabian Sea, has been facing the problem of silt and flooding for a long time.
