Mumbai Crime Branch’s Anti-Extortion Cell has arrested another accused in the firing incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence.

The newly arrested suspect has been identified as Asaram Fasle alias Babu.

According to officials, he allegedly supplied the weapon used in the shooting.

With this arrest, the total number of accused in custody has risen to five.

The main shooter is still absconding, and search operations are ongoing.

🔹 court Production and Custody Status

Police confirmed that Asaram Fasle alias Babu will be produced before the Esplanade court (Killa Court), Mumbai.

The custody period of the four previously arrested accused ends today.

Investigators are expected to seek further custody based on new evidence.

🔹 Scooter Trail and pune Link

On february 3, mumbai Police traced the scooter used in the firing to an individual based in Pune.

The pune owner reportedly sold the scooter for ₹30,000 just days before the incident.

The buyer was identified as Aditya Gayaki, one of the arrested accused.

The seller reportedly took Gayaki’s signature on plain paper as part of the informal sale.

🔹 Movement of the Vehicle

After the purchase, Gayaki and another accused, Samarth Pomaji, allegedly transported the scooter.

They left the vehicle at a pre-decided location in Juhu, Mumbai.

The drop-off was done as part of a coordinated plan linked to the firing operation.

🔹 Instructions and Conspiracy Details

Police sources say the accused were acting under direct instructions from Shubham Lonkar.

The suspects involved in arranging logistics were not aware of the shooter’s identity.

Lonkar allegedly instructed the gunman to collect the scooter and execute the firing.

Investigators say this reflects a multi-layered execution model, where different groups handle separate tasks.

Similar fragmented planning methods have reportedly been used in previous organized crimes.

🔹 Investigation Status

The shooter remains at large and is being actively pursued.

Crime Branch teams are continuing surveillance and interrogation efforts.

More arrests are possible as the investigation progresses.
