South Korea has announced the first incidence of Naegleria fowleri illness that has murdered a man in his fifties amid a fresh Covid-19 scare that is developing in China. According to reports, a brain-eating parasite that he was probably subjected to in thailand is to blame for the lethal injection. The Korea Times said that the man who spent four months in thailand before coming back to SouthKorea on december 11 passed away as a result of contracting Naegleriaa fowleri. The findings were supported by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Administration (KDCA).

What is Naegleria fowleri, the amoeba that eats brains?

The minuscule single-celled organism Naegleria is a living thing. The free-living ameba can be found in lakes, streams, soils, and all other freshwater habitats. Nevertheless, not all amoeba types are aggressive. Naegleria fowleri is the pathogen that affects people.

According to the united states Centers for Disease Controls and Prevention, the amoeba Naegleriaa fowleri enters people's bodies through the nose, moves up to the brain, where it sometimes attacks vital tissues and causes nerve damage. It causes primary amoebic meningoencefalitis (PAM), a severe infection that is typically fatal. The illnesses typically occur during hot weather, which raises the temperature of the water and lowers its volume.
