Manish Sisodia confined in a different cell in Tihar, why?

Describing the allegations of the aam aadmi party (AAP) as baseless, the delhi jail administration said on wednesday that former deputy chief minister manish Sisodia has been kept in a ward of Central Jail No. 1 of Tihar, where at least there are prisoners and no gangsters. The jail administration has issued this answer after the statements of AAP mp Sanjay Singh and mla Saurabh Bhardwaj.

Aam Aadmi party leader Saurabh Bhardwaj on wednesday alleged that manish Sisodia is being kept in tihar jail with dreaded prisoners and he has been denied a 'Vipassana cell'. There he may be killed. manish Sisodia was asked to be kept in the jail's Vipassana cell, and the judge granted his request; however, Bhardwaj questioned, "Why is he being kept with criminals in jail number one?" The Center needs to respond to this.

In response to the statements of the AAP leaders, the jail officials said, 'Manish Sisodia has been kept in a separate ward in view of his security. There are minimum number of prisoners in the ward and they are not criminals and are behaving well inside the jail. According to jail officials, having a separate cell allows him to meditate or indulge in other such activities without any disturbance.

Sisodia's custody till march 20

An official said that to ensure his safety, all arrangements have been made as per the jail rules. Any allegation about his being kept is baseless. Sisodia was arrested by the cbi in the excise policy scam case and he is currently in judicial custody till march 20.
