Shooting at Imran Khan: Video released by the police ?
Shooting at Imran Khan: Video released by the police!? Pakistan's former prime minister and former cricketer imran khan was shot dead during a protest rally in Wazirabad. He is 70 years old. Members of his PTI party say four more people were injured in the attack on thursday evening. "This is an attempt to kill him, an attempt to assassinate him," one of his senior aides told the AFP news agency. A man suspected of carrying out the attack was later arrested, pakistan Geo tv reported. Source video released by police Pakistani police have released a video of him confessing to being the one who tried to kill Imran Khan. It is not known under what circumstances this video was taken. But in the video, the police ask the man why he opened fire. To which the man replied: "He is misleading people. I wanted to kill him. I tried to kill him". What happened? Imran Khan and his supporters took part in the rally inside one of the containers used to ship cargo. A lorry towed the protesters away. A video from the scene shows gunshots being heard at the time. The video shows him ducking his head as the bystanders gather around him when he hears the gunshots. In another video, imran khan , conscious after the shooting, is seen being taken away in another carriage with his right leg shackled. One of his PTI party members is also seen with a bandage on his face. The person says everyone should pray for imran khan and those injured in the incident. Condemned by the Prime Minister The current prime minister of pakistan , Shahbaz Sharif, has condemned the shooting. He also ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter. President Arif Alvi said it was a "bad assassination attempt". Why the rally? After he was ousted in April, imran khan led a rally in the capital Islamabad demanding immediate re-election. It was during this rally named 'Long Journey' that he was shot. In the related footage, it was seen that he was immediately rushed to Lahore Hospital. A bullet hit him in the front of his knee, said one of his PTI party functionaries. PTI party leader and provincial health minister Yasmeen Rasheed said Imran Khan's condition is stable. What does the police officer on security duty say? Police officer Abdul Rashid, who was guarding the rally at the time of the shooting, told the BBC he heard gunshots. He said that he was some distance away from the container where imran khan was and heard gunshots. He also said that there was a stampede among the rally participants and imran khan was shot in the leg. He also said that he was given first aid and transferred to another vehicle at the scene. The police officer said he was present when imran khan was shifted to another vehicle and he was conscious at the time. He also said that ahmed Chatta and Faisal Javed were injured in this firing. Disqualification After hearing a complaint against imran khan , the country's election commission ordered last month that he should not hold any public office. imran khan had said that the case that led to his disqualification was politically motivated. He was accused of filing false information regarding gifts received from foreign dignitaries and the amount claimed to have been sold during his tenure as Prime Minister. These controversial gifts include Rolex watches, rings, cufflinks, etc. What did india say? "This is an ongoing event and we are closely monitoring it. We will continue to monitor it. Nothing more to say," indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bakshi said on twitter about the firing on Imran.
