21,899 hectares of soil fertility is declining..!?

There is no shortage of green manure seed (Diancha) used by farmers to increase soil fertility in the district. 1898 quintal green manure seed has been supplied in the last five years. 58 lakh under the food and nutrition security scheme for the district in the year 2023-24. Grants are fixed. Already 1547 quintals of diancha will be supplied. 31.95 lakhs at the end of March-2023 under the campaign to increase organic carbon. The minister of Agriculture said that the additional grant has been allocated, adding to the supply of 710 quintals for the current row, a total of 2257 quintals of diancha have been supplied.

Information is being given about the cropping system given the fertility of the land and good yield. He said that information is being given to the farmers about which crop should be grown after which crop through training based on the cropping system of the National Food Security Scheme and through institutional training. Farmers are being told to switch crops to pulses/oilseeds after cereals. Under the National Food Security Scheme and the National Edible oil Campaign, there is a program to grow pulses and oilseeds crops respectively after harvesting rice, according to which the farmers have been informed that soil fertility and organic carbon can be increased by nitrogen fixation in the soil along with income in a short period.
A total of 243 telemetric rain gauge stations have been established in the Gram panchayat of the district. Mandya-48, Maddur-43, Malavalli-40, Srirangapatna-22, Pandavapura-25, K.R.Pete-35, Nagamangala taluk have established 30 rain gauge stations.
