Under the chairmanship of Public health Engineering minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi, a sensitization meeting of

Public health Engineering and Water Resources Department has been held at Jal Bhavan. In which valuable

suggestions have been invited from intellectuals, subject experts, stakeholders, representatives of voluntary

organizations, departmental officers and employees regarding the Mission 2030 campaign of the state

government. The aspirations and expectations of the people of the state from the state government regarding the

vision till 2030 in the drinking water sector have also been discussed. More than six lakh stakeholders of PHED

and Water Resources Department from across the state participated in the meeting.

Reminded of Rajiv Gandhi’s work

Public health Engineering minister Dr. Mahesh Joshi said that just as former prime minister Late in 1985. To

fulfill the dream of taking the country into the 21st century, rajiv gandhi started the information revolution and

computer and communication revolution took place in the entire country. chief minister Ashok Gehlot has seen

a similar dream of rajasthan by 2030 and he has come up with Mission 2030, the results of which will be far

reaching and rajasthan will become the number one state. He said that Vision-2030 will become an important

document for the future roadmap and progress of Rajasthan.

The Public health Engineering minister said that we are moving ahead with the target of providing drinking

water to all households in urban areas by the year 2030. At present, out of 46 lakh 77 thousand houses in total

228 cities and towns in the urban areas, water supply is being done through taps in more than 32 lakh houses.

There is a target of benefiting 8 lakh 35 thousand households with tap connections in Amrit 2.0 and 6 lakh 33

thousand households in 15th Finance Commission and other state sponsored schemes. He said that providing drinking water supply once in 24 hours to all 228 cities and towns of the state is included in the Vision-2030 of the Water Supply Department.
