Roads in the city are undergoing a facelift in preparation for Ganesh Chaturthi, with patchwork projects being performed to plug potholes and repair overflowing drains. The work was started after a pandal organizer brought the problem to minister Talasani srinivas Yadav's attention during a coordination meeting. The conference was conducted on august 26 and was attended by representatives of the various government ministries and pandal organizers.

The minister gave the relevant officials orders to mend the city's overflowing drains, fill in potholes, and put lamps on pilgrimage routes. The ghmc administrators stated that they are attempting to fill the potholes. Mohammad Ziauddin, the head engineer for the ghmc, stated, "We have filled over 10,000 potholes in the last week. There are still around three thousand potholes, but they will be filled up within the next two to three days.

The city's drains are now being fixed as part of a special drive, according to HMWS&SB general manager Jan Shareef. The primary procession path passes via, among other places, Goshamahal, Purana Pul, Begum Bazaar, Mozamjahi Market, and Nampally. However, still lots of patch work has to be done and netizens complaint that it shouldn't be an eye wash just for sake of the Ganesh Chavithi Celebrations.
