The largest holiday observed in telangana is Dussehra. Due to the fact that another holiday, Batukamma, also takes place in the same month, the celebrations last longer and are more elaborate. To prepare for this occasion, the government declares holidays for offices, colleges, and schools.

Dasara holidays were declared for 13 days in the academic calendar 2023–24 for educational institutions, down from 14 days in the previous year, according to the education department. The dasara vacations will last from october 14 through october 25 in 2023. On Thursday, october 26, schools and institutions will reopen.


The number of christmas holidays was likewise decreased from seven to five. Beginning on january 12, 2024, and lasting until january 17, 2024, are the sankranti festivities. A significant Hindu holiday called vijayadashami, sometimes referred to as dussehra, dasara, or Dashain, is observed annually at the conclusion of Navaratri. It is celebrated on the tenth day of the seventh lunar month of Ashvin in the Hindu calendar. According to the Hindu calendar, dussehra is observed on the tenth day, or Dashami Tithi, of the shukla paksha of the Ashwin month.
