parties are once again face to face regarding GST on online betting. On one hand, the central government has

said that 28 percent GST will be imposed on it. Whereas AAP minister Atishi Marlena has opposed it and

demanded its removal.

Case of removal of GST on online gaming

Actually, the central government had said that 28 percent GST will be imposed on sports like online gaming,

casino, horse racing etc. which involve betting. It was also proposed to be implemented from october 1. This

decision was taken in the GST Council meeting held recently, but delhi Government minister Atishi is

opposing it saying that 50 thousand people are getting employment from the online betting company. This is an

emerging startup. This decision of the central government will have a huge impact on this industry. Therefore

it should be removed.

Not only this, he has also opposed the decision to send notices to the gaming company for tax evasion of Rs 1.5

lakh crore in the last six years. He said, There will be a demand to withdraw the tax notice given to the online gaming sector. At the same time, on this demand of AAP minister Atishi, delhi bjp spokesperson Praveen

Shankar Kapoor took him to task and said that it seems that That the problem with Atishi is that he has to

oppose every decision of the central government. Therefore, he has also criticized the Center for imposing tax

on online gaming.
