Reports claim that israel fired toxic white phosphorus bombs during continuing airstrikes that continue to pound the Gaza Strip. Many social media users who have shared a video have claimed that israel has used prohibited White phosphorus bombs to target densely populated areas in the northern Gaza Strip.

What is White phosphorus Bomb?

Chemically, white phosphorus is used in bombs and other weapons. It ignites the moment it makes contact with air and has the ability to burn through human flesh. The bomb's impact is so intense that it can burn a person through to the bone. In addition to it, persons who come into touch with it experience organ failure, infection, and respiratory harm. Even if using white phosphorus bombs in heavily populated civilian areas is not prohibited by the rules of armed conflict, it is nonetheless regarded as a war crime.

Casualties in Gaza after israel bombings

Although it has not been officially acknowledged, the conflict that followed Hamas strikes has so far claimed the lives of 700 Israelis and 413 Palestinians. The Jewish state has continued to bombing the beleaguered coastal outpost since israel declared war on Hamas a day after the Islamist organisation launched an extraordinary surprise attack on southern Israel. The israel Defence Forces (IDF) said in a statement that they attacked a building that was home to Hamas members and many of the terrorist group's operational command centres, including a three-floor building.
