The tamil Nadu government has ordered to give wage hike to the workers and employees working in cooperative and public sector sugar mills. About 3,500 workers are employed in cooperative and public sector sugar mills in tamil Nadu. In this situation, chief minister Stalin has ordered a committee to consider the long-standing demand to improve their livelihood and to provide wage hike considering the welfare of the workers and employees.


The basic pay of the workers has been increased by 35 percent through the current wage hike and a goodwill amount of Rs.40,000 to Rs.50,000 has been made available to a permanent worker and Rs.32,000 to Rs.40,000 to a seasonal worker for the period up to 30.09.2022. It is also ordered to pay the due amount in cash for the period from 01.10.2022 till now.


Chief minister Stalin has ordered a committee to consider the long-standing demand to improve their livelihood and to provide wage hike considering the welfare of the workers and employees. Considering the welfare of sugarcane farmers and sugar mills, the tamil Nadu government is taking constructive action, all workers and employees should accept the wage hike and contribute to make all cooperative and public sector sugar mills run more profitably.
