Ministry of Road Transport mandates use of AC truck cabins...

Due to the terrible state of trucks in the nation, the indian government has mandated that all trucks have air conditioning cabins. According to a notification from the Ministry of Road Transport, all new trucks will have driver-facing air conditioning cabins fitted from the factory starting in 2025. An air-conditioned cabin will be a must. The government has finally set the date of implementation after multiple attempts over the last five years. The ministry announced in a gazette notice on friday night that "all N2 and N3 category trucks manufactured on or after october 1, 2025" shall have air conditioning installed in the cabin.
According to the notification, air-conditioned cabins will be tested in accordance with the announced automobile requirements. commercial vehicles in the N2 and N3 categories will fall under this. Additionally, truck manufacturers will be able to offer chassis with cabins that include air conditioning systems thanks to these specifications. Truck bodybuilders fit at the moment. The truck manufacturing companies will therefore need to install it themselves because the AC cabins, including the dashboard, would need to be modified. As a result, car bodybuilders won't be required to fit the cabin. In 2020, a non-profit group polled truck drivers in ten states, and nearly half of them acknowledged that they continue to drive even when they are exhausted or drowsy.
