congress is firm on its stand and is not ready to give up its claim on the Sangli seat considering it as the party's stronghold. congress leaders are firm in their intention to field vishal Patil, grandson of former maharashtra Chief minister Vasantdada Patil, as their candidate for the upcoming elections. To strengthen its position, congress leaders will hold a meeting with former congress President sonia gandhi in delhi today regarding this matter.

uddhav Thackeray's announcement of 17 candidates has spread dissatisfaction in Mahavikas Aghadi, especially regarding the Sangli lok sabha seat. congress leaders say that there was no mutual consent on Chandrahar Patil's candidature, and stressed that congress should contest the Sangli seat alone.
