There are two famous krishna Dhams in Mewar, Rajasthan. One is the temple of Sanvaliya Seth, the Seth of Seths and the other is Nathdwara temple located in Rajsamand district. There is an age-old tradition of Nathdwara temple, where the king has cleaned the gulal applied on the stairs of the temple with the hair of his beard. Not only this, but after this the townspeople also carried the king on their shoulders. There is a year-old story hidden behind this program.

As per tradition in Shrinathji's mansion, the king was carried on the shoulders and taken out in a palanquin in the city. The belief of the people of the region behind this tradition is that the Mughal emperor aurangzeb used to break the idols of god in temples. He reached Mewar breaking the statues of ancient temples. It is said that when aurangzeb reached krishna Dham Shrinathji in Mewar and after reaching here, he planned to break the idol. When he went to the temple to destroy it, he lost his eyesight as soon as he entered.
