New delhi, May 16 india and the EU (European Union) have launched two predominant research and innovation initiatives that target marine plastic clutter and waste-to-inexperienced-hydrogen solutions.


The tasks have been released below the India-EU Trade and Era Council (TTC), set up in 2022 by prime minister Narendra Modi and european Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to reinforce the bilateral partnership on alternate and generation.


With a joint investment of Rs 391 crore, the tasks of cognizance on coordinated calls within the regions of Marine Plastic Litter (MPL) and Waste to Inexperienced Hydrogen (W2GH) are co-funded by means of Horizon Europe—the EU's studies and innovation framework program—and the indian government.


"Collaborative research is the cornerstone of innovation. Those tasks will harness the strengths of each indian and Ecuadorian researcher to increase answers that address our shared environmental demanding situations," stated professor Ajay Kumar Sood, important medical advisor to the government.


Highlighting the increasing momentum of the European-India collaboration, Hervé Delphin, EU Ambassador to india, remarked, "Those research calls beneath the EU-India Trade and Era Council demonstrate the dynamism of the European-India partnership, renewed through our leaders in delhi in ultimate February."



Regardless of global efforts, marine pollution continues to threaten biodiversity, disrupt ecosystems, and impact human health.


Dr. M. Ravichandran, Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences, stated, "Marine pollution is a worldwide situation that calls for collective motion. This joint venture will permit us to expand advanced equipment and strategies to shield our marine ecosystems."


The second coordinated name addresses the urgent need for sustainable electricity answers through the development of waste-to-inexperienced hydrogen technology.


Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of Latest and Renewable Power, stated that "Advancing waste-to-hydrogen technologies is important for our energy transition desires. This collaboration will boost up the improvement of sustainable hydrogen manufacturing strategies."
