ISRO SSLV-D1 launch: Satellites are no longer usable?

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on sunday used its first Small Satellite Launching Vehicle to send small satellites. However, due to some technical glitch, the connectivity of these satellites was lost. Now isro has told that these satellites have been installed in the wrong orbit, due to which they are of no use. For the first time, isro had tried to use a low-capacity launching vehicle to send a small satellite, so that its cost could be reduced.

ISRO has informed that the satellites sent by SSLV-D1 have gone into an elliptical orbit of 356X76 km instead of a circular orbit of 365 km. Because of this, these satellites are no longer of any use. The problem has been correctly identified. The fault in the sensor could not be detected, due to which this satellite went out of its way.

ISRO to launch SSLV-D2 now

A committee will be formed in this matter which will investigate the irregularities and give suggestions. Problems will be solved by implementing these suggestions. isro has announced that it will launch SSLV-D2 afresh. Also, it has also been told that the Chairman of isro will issue a detailed statement regarding this soon.

SSLV is used to launch small satellites. With the help of this, 500 kg satellites are installed in the lower orbit. The specialty of SSLV is that it can be prepared in just 72 hours and works on 4-stage propulsion.
