Now, while texting, you might need to format your message in a certain way. You may wish to add bullet points, use Bold text, or even decide to throw in some strikethrough bits in your message.

All these are made possible by some easy shortcuts. Without further ado, here are some quick formatting shortcuts that you can experiment with.  Needless to say, to ensure all the shortcuts work properly, it’s best to keep your whatsapp updated to the latest version available. 

How To Add Bulleted List On WhatsApp

If you are sharing a list on whatsapp, and want to add bullet points, simply add a - in front of your message. 

For example, if your message is ABCD, simply type - ABCD in the message box and hit Send. 

How To Add Numbered List On WhatsApp

If you wish to add numbered bullet points, add the numbers followed by a period before your message. 

For example, if your message is ABCD, simply type 1. ABCD and so on. 

How To Add Block Quotes On WhatsApp

If you wish to add a block-quote format to your text, say in the case of a quotation or a part of the text you want to be highlighted, simply add a ‘>’ before your message.

For example, if your message is ABCD, simply type > ABCD.

How To Add Inline Codes On WhatsApp

If you wish to add inline codes to your text, say to highlight a piece of programming code or numerical data, add single quotes to your message. 

For example, if your message is ABCD, simply type ‘ABCD’.
