A further Rs 2,000 crore expansion is planned for hypermarkets and malls in Uttar Pradesh,” Phillips added.
About the mall in Noida, the Lulu Group director said the retail property is still in the planning stage and the location will be decided based on market opportunities. “We are currently understanding the market. If it is a commercial complex, it will be ready within three years, if it is a hypermarket, it will be done within one year,'' he said. In Gurugram, Lulu Group has occupied space in a mall to launch a hypermarket. It is under construction. It was also informed that it will be operational in one and a half years. Another area we need to focus on is Bengaluru and we are planning to set up four more hypermarkets and one mini-mall in Bengaluru,” he said. He mentioned that the team is also looking for land in Chennai.
