
Maharashtra chief minister devendra fadnavis on friday (May 9) inaugurated the mumbai Metro Line 3 metro line from Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to acharya Atre Chowk (Worli). This metro line will be opened for the general public from saturday (May 10) morning.
chief minister devendra fadnavis and deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde traveled from BKC to Siddhivinayak station in the underground passage of mumbai Metro Line 3 on friday afternoon. During this, cm fadnavis said that the last phase of this metro line (from acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade) will start in August.
'The last phase will be inaugurated in August'
While talking to journalists after traveling in the metro, chief minister devendra fadnavis said that the route from BKC to acharya Atre Chowk will be opened for the public on saturday morning. He said that the final phase of the metro from acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade station will start in august and prime minister Narendra Modi will be invited for its inauguration.
'This is a miracle of engineering'
chief minister fadnavis said that the Colaba-BKC-Aarey Metro line is the longest underground metro line in the country. He called it (Colaba-BKC-Aarey Metro line) an 'engineering miracle', as this metro route passes under densely populated areas like Mithi River and Girgaon.
26 stations on the new route
cm devendra fadnavis informed on his X handle, "The newly inaugurated route comprises 26 stations, each with multiple entry points. Metro Line 3 will connect directly to the airport, allowing passengers to travel seamlessly by metro. Construction on other lines is progressing rapidly, with 50 km of new routes to be added this year and next. Soon, passengers in the mumbai Metropolitan Region will be able to travel by metro, monorail, local train and bus using a single integrated ticket."
