Amaravati: Energy minister Gottipati ravi Kumar has ordered a complete field-degree inquiry into the overall performance of Clever Energy meters.

This directive follows a surge in complaints from industrial and business institutions reporting improved energy bills because of the setup of those meters.

Responding to those full-size issues, minister ravi Kumar has advised officials to conduct intensive research into the meters' functionality.

The probe will intend to confirm whether the said billing hikes are authentic or stem from technical glitches or procedural troubles. He has mandated that an in-depth record be submitted to him by way of Monday.

"We've received comments that electricity payments are growing after the installation of smart meters," minister Gottipati ravi Kumar said on Sunday.
