From playing a side role to becoming the 'star' of the film, actress divya dutta has carved a niche for herself in bollywood and in the hearts of her audience. She has made an image in bollywood with strong acting in all the films like Veer-Zaara, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, delhi 6. She also won many national and international awards on the basis of her talent. Ludhiana-based actress divya dutta has done more than 100 films in several languages including Hindi, English, punjabi, tamil and Bengali. divya received her first National Award in 2018 for the film Irada. She has won many awards including Zee Cine Award, IIFA Award till now on the basis of her best acting.


The film journey started like this

Before coming to mumbai, divya dutta tried her luck in modeling for local TV ads in Punjab. She came to mumbai in the year 1994 and made her bollywood debut at the age of just 17. Her first film was Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna. It is said that it was given tax exemption in Uttar Pradesh. 


Father's shadow was snatched away at a young age

Divya was born in 1977 in a punjabi Hindu family in the city of Ludhiana. When divya was 7 years old, her father's shadow was snatched. After the passing of her father, Divya's mother alone took care of her.

Deep connection with Sikh riots

Divya Dutta was in punjab at the time of 1984 riots. divya had told in an interview that she was very scared when she was young and till the Sikh riots in punjab in 1984. She still cannot forget that era.

According to media reports, divya dutta had engaged Lt commander Sandeep Shergill in the indian Army in 2005, but it soon broke up. Since then, she did not think anything about marriage.
