India has faced an upsurge in the number of fresh COVID cases and this has shocked everyone and when the health department looked into the data, a shocking factor got revealed as 46% of the new cases are reported only from Kerala. As kerala government gave relaxation for Bakrid, this sudden increase has been inevitable. 


Now, to fight against this deadly virus, kerala health Department has started the vaccination drive in full throttle and they ramped up the vaccination process by setting up various vaccination centers across the state. Now, the state has achieved a new milestone as they have vaccinated more than 4.5 Lakhs of people on a single day itself and this is a new record in india as no state has vaccinated this amount of people on a single day. 


Kerala health minister Veena George said, "So far we had 1380 vaccination centers in kerala and now we have increased this count to 1522 and for the past one week we have vaccinated 16 lakhs of people in the state and particularly, yesterday alone we have vaccinated 4.53 lakhs of people in Kerala. But now on a shocking fact, we have only 2 lakhs of vaccine available and we request the Union government to send us the next set of vaccines so that we can ramp up the drive."
