The tremendous drama and intensity of the hostage scenario is completely missing. In the first half, though, the humour and some initial action appeal. Given the scope, one would expect things to improve in the second half, but that is not the case with Beast. Things continue in the same pattern as the first half, resulting in a dull story. There's no suspense in the game when you know the'star' is unstoppable. He is 'Unstoppable' and 'Leaner-Meaner-Stronger.'

In fact, in the conclusion, as Veera crosses the border, the director really takes this to the next level. Instead of being an engaging or edifying hero, the whole thing appears ridiculous and ludicrous. The first half of Beast is acceptable, with the comedy and action working in portions. In the second hour, though, it becomes sillier and more over-the-top, and the story begins to sag. In the end, it is a below-average film for general audiences, however enthusiasts may feel slightly better.

Now, we came to know that the movie had a below par opening and it has never dominated valimai at the box office and when compared to valimai, Beast has lost the race on Day 1 box office collections. Even Vijay's 'Sarkar' made some better collections comparatively to Beast and the negative word of mouth has ruined everything for Vijay.
