The police's request for judicial remand for three people accused of attempting to snare four MLAs from the telangana rashtra samithi (TRS) was denied by a city court judgement, which was a major setback for the government. In accordance with the judge's ruling, the police freed Ramachandra Bharati, alias Satish Sharma, Nanda Kumar, and Simhayaji Swamy. On thursday night, the police brought the three suspects before the judge at his home in Saroornagar, about 24 hours after they were taken into custody from a farmhouse close to Hyderabad.
The police appeal to place the accused in judicial custody, however, was denied by Judge G. Rajagopal due to a lack of evidence. He pointed out that since there is no proof of bribe money, the Prevention of Corruption Act does not apply to the situation. The accused should receive notices under Section 41 of the criminal Procedure Code from the police, the judge instructed. According to reports, Cyberabad police are consulting a lawyer to determine their next steps in the case after releasing the defendant in accordance with the court's ruling.
