A police inspector and constable (both women), both assigned to Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh's Mahila Thana, have been booked on the court's orders for allegedly kidnapping a male police inspector who was accused of being raped by another woman constable in July. Inspector Nishu Tomar was detained on september 22 by meera Kushwaha, the SHO of Mahila Thana, after he attempted to surrender to a Sultanpur court after being suspended following the filing of a complaint against him. Since then, he has vanished.

Tomar's wife had gone to court to ask for action in the situation. A case was filed against the female inspector and a constable per the court's instructions. According to Sultanpur's superintendent of police, Somen Barma, meera Kushwaha has been the target of a FIR filed under the IPC's criminal conspiracy(120-B) and kidnapping/detention/threat of death(364) provisions on the CJM court's directive.

"We have set up five squads, and we're working to find Nishu," he declared. Kusum Devi, Tomar's wife, said that a female constable had filed a rape complaint against her husband in July. "The investigation was given to Mahila Thana meera Kushwaha, SHO. Her spouse arrived at the local court to surrender in the same case on september 22 "Devi said.
