National Tourism Day : History/significance!!!

India's independence was commemorated last year with a 75-week long event under the auspices of "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav."  Every year on january 25, the country observes National Tourism Day.

History and significance:

Since tourism significantly boosts a country's economy, the indian government declared january 25 to be National Tourism Day in order to increase public awareness of the sector's significance. The goal of the day is to raise global awareness of the value of tourism in terms of its social, political, economic, and cultural contributions.

India provides several different types of tourism, including eco-tourism, cruises, business, sports, educational, rural, and medical travel. In India, the national policies for the development and promotion of tourism are developed by the ministry of tourism. Additionally, it coordinates with federal, state, and private organisations.

Celebration: The Center, where several states host activities to promote tourism in their region, organises seminars, cultural gatherings, and other programmes as part of National Tourism Day.
