According to kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir director General of police (DGP) RR Swain, publishing any anything on social media that encourages divisiveness or upsets the security situation in the Union Territory (UT) would soon be considered a criminal violation. He made the remarks after the kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir police investigated a case in which a student was accused of posting obscene information on social media. The police initiated an inquiry, and the case will be investigated thoroughly.

"Those who post content on social media, including posts, videos and audio that promote separatism, terrorism or communal tensions, will be charged under a new law under Section 144 of the Code of criminal Procedure (CrPC)," the director General of police stated. He urged the people not to succumb to the nefarious objectives of anti-national groups who may take advantage of the circumstances and seek to disrupt peace and order in Jammu and Kashmir.

In response to a question concerning Pakistan's efforts to poison the atmosphere in UT, the DGP stated unequivocally that various messages were being sent from over the border and spread on social media. He claimed that certain persons were engaging in these crimes in order to disrupt the region's calm, and he asked for people's help in thwarting such evil efforts.
