A mother apparently discovered her son had a rare kind of cancer by using the flash on her smartphone. One evening in november 2022, Sarah Hedges, a mother of four from Gillingham, Kent, aged 40, had a revelation that would change her life. She was busy cooking shepherd's pie when she saw something odd in her 3-month-old baby Thomas's eye: a strange "white glow" that looked like a cat's reflection.

She was so concerned that she reached for her smartphone and utilised the flash to take a closer look, taking pictures of the abnormality. Sarah was intrigued and a little scared by what she saw, so she looked up more information on her son's illness online. Taking advantage of the illusive light, she used her smartphone to take a few pictures of Thomas using the flash. But then the glow seemed to fade, and she wasn't sure whether it was just a trick of the light, as SWNS reported.

The next day, determined to unravel the mystery of the light, Sarah carried out her own experiment. She walked Thomas around the room, watching him intently in various lighting scenarios until, to her dismay, the ghostly glow returned.
