Renowned entrepreneur Kavya Maran is a co-owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad, a team in the indian Premier League (IPL). She comes from a powerful family and is well-known for her appearances on match days.
 
For those who don't know, Kalanithi Maran, the Chairman and Managing director of the indian media company sun Group, is the father of Kavya Maran. In addition to owning newspapers, tv stations, and other media, they are well-known for sun Pictures, their film production firm. She is therefore the great-grandniece of M. Karunanidhi, the former president of the DMK and the chief minister of tamil Nadu.
 
Kavya Maran was born in chennai, tamil Nadu, and graduated from Stella Maris college with a Bachelor of Commerce degree.  Later, she studied for an MBA at New York University's Stern school of Business.
