They said that if I wanted to join again, I had to apologize. There are many procedures that have to fall at their feet. So I said I can’t. They even asked me to give an apology letter a week ago. Why should I ask? I have said I can’t do all that,” chinmayi said.

In 2018, during the ‘# metoo movement, chinmayi filed a sexual harassment complaint against famous lyricist Vairamuthu. Following this, her opportunities to sing in tamil cinema completely stopped.
