The movie 'Kubera', which telugu and tamil audiences are eagerly waiting for, is ready for release. Directed by sekhar Kammula, this movie starring dhanush in the lead role is going to be brought to the audience on june 20. tollywood senior star nagarjuna plays a key role, while national crush rashmika mandanna plays the heroine. Expectations are high in the backdrop of dhanush being seen as a beggar in this movie. It is not a common thing for a star hero like dhanush to accept that role. Film fraternity and media circles are saying that the level of the story is beyond imagination.
The film Kubera, which is ready for release after a long period of delays, is still facing problems. The popular OTT amazon Prime Video has bought the post-theatrical release streaming rights of this film. The film will be streaming on OTT four weeks after its theatrical release. However, this has created a big problem for the film. Recently, some multiplexes have brought in a restriction to reduce the impact of OTTs in North India. According to that restriction, OTT streaming should be allowed only after eight weeks of theatrical release. Due to this restriction, the film Kubera is not being released in the respective multiplexes.

Dhanush was expected to release Kubera on a large scale in North india due to the market and craze there. But that is not possible. Multiplexes like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis are agreeing to screening only if there is an 8-week OTT period. The audience will be able to watch the hindi version of Kubera only on single screens. In order to be released in those three multiplexes, any film has to be agreed upon in advance that OTT streaming will be done after 8 weeks. However, the producers of Kubera have given an agreement to amazon that they can stream for only four weeks.

This film, starring rashmika mandanna and Anupam Kher, has a good buzz in the hindi market. But there are chances of difficulties arising due to the inability to release the film in multiplexes. There is a belief that this film is sure to be a huge success in the South, especially at the telugu and tamil box office. At such a time, if it is released on the largest number of screens in hindi too, it is likely to get huge openings. But due to the 8-week rule, they are not able to release much there. Analysts are of the opinion that this is definitely likely to result in losses for producers.
