The recent pahalgam terror attack, carried out with Pakistan’s fingerprints all over it, should have united the government behind a hardline stance. Instead, what does india see? The Modi regime is giving a green signal for a cricket match with Pakistan. The same pakistan that bleeds our borders is being legitimized on our cricket fields—all because broadcast sponsors, corporates, and capitalists want the show to go on. The double-speak is evident: loud speeches against terror for the public, quiet handshakes for profit behind the scenes.

Then comes China, the dragon in the room. Despite openly aiding pakistan during Operation Sindoor, beijing continues to enjoy backdoor entry into India’s markets. What was once labeled a “national security threat” is now being polished up for a comeback, with reports of the TikTok ban being lifted. The irony could not be starker—first ban, then boast, then quietly allow a re-entry when the lobbying and money pile up high enough. Atmanirbhar Bharat? Or Atmachor Bharat?

This is not a strategy. This is surrender—wrapped in tricolour rhetoric but stitched together with corporate greed. Every decision—be it cricket diplomacy with pakistan or app diplomacy with China—reeks of a government willing to compromise sovereignty for the profits of a few big players. While soldiers guard our borders, the marketplace of nationalism is being sold to the highest bidder. It’s time we call it what it is: a betrayal of national interest in exchange for capitalist dividends.
