🏡 1. Update Your Address on Aadhaar
Your Aadhaar address should be updated before you update your PAN card address, because PAN can use your Aadhaar address to change automatically.
✅ Online Method (Easy & Official)
1. Visit the UIDAI Self‑Service Update Portal: https://ssup.uidai.gov.in
2. Choose “Update Aadhaar Online” and log in with your Aadhaar number + OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
3. Select “Address” as the field to update.
4. Enter your new address details.
5. Upload valid proof of new address (e.g., electricity bill, rent agreement, bank statement, passport).
6. Submit the request and note your URN (Update Request Number) to track status.
📌 Common Documents Accepted
· electricity bill / water bill
· Passport
· bank statement/passbook
· Ration card or voter ID
· Rent agreement (signed)
⏱️ Timeline: Usually around 7–10 working days for verification and update.
Once approved, you can download the updated e‑Aadhaar with your new address from the uidai portal.
📌 2. Update Your Address on PAN Card
There are two ways to update your address on PAN:
🟡 A. Update Using Aadhaar (Fastest)
If your PAN is already linked with your Aadhaar, you can use the Aadhaar‑based address update facility. In this process, the PAN address will be updated automatically based on the address in your Aadhaar record (the same one you just changed online).
Steps
1. Go to the PAN address update portal provided by:
o NSDL: https://onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserAddressUpdate.html
o UTIITSL: https://pan.utiitsl.com/PAN_ONLINE/homeaddresschange
2. Authenticate with Aadhaar and OTP (sent to your Aadhaar‑linked mobile).
3. Agree to fetch the address from Aadhaar.
4. Submit the update request.
5. You’ll get a confirmation message or email once it’s processed.
📌 Important: This service is free, and after update you don’t need to submit any address proof again — the system copies it from Aadhaar.
💡 Your PAN number stays the same; only the address changes.
🟢 B. Update PAN Address Manually (NSDL/UTIITSL)
If you don’t want to use Aadhaar or your PAN isn’t linked, you can update your PAN address by filling a form on the NSDL or UTIITSL portal, uploading address proof, and paying a small fee.
Steps
1. Visit NSDL or UTIITSL PAN update service online.
2. Select Correction / Update PAN Card.
3. Enter your PAN details and new address.
4. Upload address proof (same documents as Aadhaar).
5. Pay the processing fee (usually around ₹110 for an indian address).
6. Submit and note the acknowledgement number to track status.
⏱️ Timeline: 7–15 working days (online) or up to 20 days (offline).
📝 Key Tips
✅ Always update Aadhaar address first — it simplifies the PAN update.
✅ Your mobile number linked to Aadhaar must be active to receive the OTP.
✅ You don’t need a new PAN number; just the updated address.
✅ Electronic PAN (e‑PAN) is fully valid if you don’t need a physical card printed.
