Bulls returned to Dalal street after a three-day losing streak, making the market indices end on higher note on thursday with support from fiancial and IT stocks. At the end of the day, about 1170 shares declined, 1781 shares have advanced and 109 shares remain unchanged.

Among the top indices, the BSE barometer Sensex gained 209.36 points or 0.40% and settled at 52653.07, while the Nifty50 index rose 69.10 points or 0.44%  and closed at 15778.50.

In the broader market, the indices outperformed the Nifty and Sensex as mid-caps gained over half a percent and small-caps rose nearly 1 percent. The market advance-decline ratio surged to 3:2.  On the Nifty50 index, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finserv, JSW Steel, Hindalco, sbi were the top gainers, while ITC, Bajaj Auto, Maruti, Power Grid and Coal india were the top laggards.

Among NSE's sectoral gauges, Nifty PSU bank gained almost 3 percent, Nifty Metal surged 5 percent and Nifty Realty and IT surged 1.5 percent. While on the other hand, Nifty FMCG almost lost 1 percent, followed by Nifty bank and Pharma that fell 0.14  and 0.32 percent, respectively.

On the IPO front, Glenmark Life Sciences offering on July 29 was subscribed 17.75 times so far on the final day of bidding. The public offer received bids for 26.65 crore worth equity shares against the size of 1.50 crore equity shares, based on the data available one exchanges.

the offering of Rolex Rings was subscribed 6.76 times so far on the second day of bidding. Bids of 3.84 crore equity shares were placed by the investors against the IPO size of 56.85 lakh equity shares, according to the data provided by the exchanges.
