Every year on 6 May, international No Diet Day is celebrated all over the world. This day is especially to give a message to all those people who are constantly under pressure about their body. This day says- 'You are perfect the way you are'... but does it mean that anything should be eaten without thinking, is it against healthy dieting. Let's know the real purpose of this day...

Is it against dieting?

According to health experts, it is not so. international No Diet Day does not mean 'eat without thinking' or 'give up fitness' at all. Rather, its purpose is to promote body positivity, challenge the mental pressure of diet culture, understand fitness more mentally than physically. Its purpose is that people look at their body with love, not with shame and understand that health is not just about being thin.

Why is this day important?

In today's era, there are discussions of 'perfect body', 'six pack', and 'weight loss tricks' everywhere on social media. In such a situation, many people start crash diets, starving or torturing themselves in the name of fitness without understanding. This harms the body, mental health deteriorates and self-hatred also increases many times. 'International No Diet Day' tries to make people understand that staying healthy is important, but loving your body is even more important.

How did international No Diet Day start?

It was started in 1992 by british activist Mary Evans Young. She started this campaign after fighting dangerous diseases like anorexia (eating disorder). So that the world can understand that diet is not limited to just losing weight, it has also become a mental pressure.
