This project, built under the Green pakistan Initiative, was started in the year 2023 and it was Asim Munir who started it and prepared the entire project along with Shahbaz Sharif. A total of 176 km long canals are to be built in it and the contract for building these canals is not with any canal building company but with the Pakistani army, whose total cost is around Rs 945 billion.

Through this project, the Pakistani army wants to make about 12 lakh acres of land green by supplying water to the Cholistan desert and the water needed for this will have to be snatched by the army from the people of Sindh because a total of 6 canals are to be built under this project. Out of these, five canals will get water from the Indus River while the sixth canal will get water from Sutlej, but india has control over Sutlej and after the cancellation of the Indus Water Treaty, pakistan will not get the water of Sutlej. In such a situation, the army will take out water from the Indus river and send it to the canals. But due to this, the people of Sindh, who are already facing water shortage, will face even more water shortage.

People angry with the project burnt the house of home minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar

So, the people of Sindh have been opposing this project from the very beginning, but the head of Pakistan Peoples party and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, who also comes from Sindh, is in support of this project. The government in Sindh is of PPP, whose head is Murad ali Shah, so Murad ali Shah and his cabinet have to face the opposition of the people, in which the house of home minister Ziaul Hasan Lanjar in Murad Ali's cabinet has been burnt.
