Sekhar Kammula, the sensible director who is considered as a man with tonnes of creativity is slowly looking to be fading out as a director in the Telugu film industry now a days. There is also an interesting discussion happening in the film circles now. Many are into thinking that he is proving as an iron leg to the stars that act in his films. Here is a small analysis on this. Sekhar's first Telugu feature film was "Anand... O manchi Coffee lanti Cinema". This was a beautiful and memorable success for Kammula and his team. Anand had the young hero Raja and Kamalini Mukherjee playing the lead roles of the film. This film was a huge hit and a musical bonanza that had beautiful compositions of KM Radhakrishnan and lyrics of late Veturi. Though there were a few films for Raja and Kamalini after this, these two are no where now in the industry. Then came in yet another beautiful celluloid film, "Godavari" starring Akkineni heir Sumanth and Kamalini again in the lead roles. This film though was not a great collector of revenues was considered as a decent hit. Again the music of Radhakrishnan and lyrics of Veturi turned this into a musical extravaganza. But where is Sumanth now in the box office race? point to be considered... Later was the blockbuster hit "Happy Days" by Kammula, which had new comers like Varun Sandesh, Nikhil, Rahul and Tamanna. This film after its great success in Telugu was later remade into all the South Indian regional languages and also is now being made into Hindi by Salman Khan himself as producer. This success though helped its stars to get a shower of film offers, none could stand high in the race. Same is the situation of Daggubati hero Rana who debuted with Sekhar's "Leader". Though Leader was reasonably good hit, no bright future and success was seen for Rana, Richa and Priya, the lead stars. Similar is the case of stars from Kammula's next, "Life is beautiful". None from that film is to be seen in front of the cameras. Now, for the latest Sekhar's first remake film "Anamika". This proved a disaster for Sekhar and Nayantara, the lead actress of the film. It is to be seen now, whether the same sentiment continues for Nayan and Vaibhav, the leading stars of Anamika!!! Sekhar Kammula; Iron leg for stars; Anand.. Manchi Coffee lanti Cinema; Godavari; Hero Raja; Kamalini Mukherjee; Sumanth; Veturi Sundara Ramamurthi; Radhakrishnan; Leader; Daggubati Rana; Happy Days; Varun Sandesh; Tamanna; Nikhil; Life is beautiful; Anamika; Nayanatara
