The first half of valimai features a gripping crime thriller plot interspersed with adrenaline-pumping bike racing exploits. On the other hand, the tale is simplistic and the interval block is far too long (almost like a climax) with few good sections. Even if it is overlong, the first half is nice for the extravagant hollywood style making, good BGM, and uniqueness in the whole thing. Valimai's fate will be decided in the second half.

Because there is no meat in the later part, Valimai's weak plot gets exposed. The climax drags with a predictable sentiment and is a major bore. 'Action movie fans' can still give it a shot for the stunning action. The second half begins with another high-octane, elegant stunt action, but it does not end on a good note. As the second half progresses, the plot's flaws become more apparent. Instead of a compelling tale, the second half relies largely on a couple of action sequences.

Valimai has been making headlines for quite some time. For months, people have been clamouring for an update on it. It was due to the fact that it had been a long time since Ajith's last film had been released. In august of this year, Nerkonda Paarvai was released in theatres. And it wasn't even typical commercial material. When it comes to valimai, it's everything Ajith's supporters want from him. The film features spectacular action, a über cool Ajith, and a new subject for the actor. Expectations have only grown as a result of the long delay.
