After Acharya's failure, megastar Chiranjeevi's hopes of landing a huge hit were dashed as Godfather continued its lukewarm box office performance. The political drama was unable to capitalise on the holiday season, and even the weekend performances were somewhat uninteresting, shocking the business community.

The movie's two-week audience share was lower in many regions than the day one audience share of earlier chiranjeevi films like Khaidhi No. 150 and syeraa narasimha Reddy. What's more astonishing is that the Godfather movie made less money than lucifer with Mohanlal. The movie, which also included satyadev and Nayanthara in significant parts, opened to mainly favourable reviews. Many people praised the performances of chiranjeevi and satyadev in particular.

Godfather is currently preparing for its OTT release. On november 19, Netflix will release the political action drama. As was repeatedly stated throughout the film's promotion, Mohanlal's malayalam blockbuster "Lucifer" is a more commercialised version of Chiranjeevi's Godfather. There is no clarity regarding the release of tamil and hindi languages on Netflix as of now. Enola Holmes 2 is releasing on Netflix this weekend and it has all the hype now.
