On Friday, a biopic of Robert Oppenheimer, the inventor of the first atomic weapon, was made public. The christopher nolan blockbuster has made the box office ring, but one moment hasn't been warmly received by some indian moviegoers. According to a press release from the "Save culture Save india Foundation," it is unclear how the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) could have approved the movie in this scenario.

Uday Mahurkar, Information Commissioner of the government of india, shared this statement. It is Robert Oppenheimer's (Cillian Murphy) reading of the Bhagavad Gita while engaging in sexual activity that is in doubt. In a scene from the movie, a lady has a man recite the Bhagwad Geeta aloud while they engage in sexual activity. The I & B Ministry has to look into this immediately, and those responsible should face harsh punishment, according to the press release from the Save culture Save india Foundation.

The first film under christopher Nolan's direction to receive an R-rating is Oppenheimer. However, after the company deleted several footage from the sex scene to shorten the movie, India's censor board assigned the movie a U/A classification. The studio reportedly made the modifications because they did not believe the censor board would approve the sequence.
