Kick boxer turned actress ritika singh has voiced her concerns about the rising number of crimes against women and children. In a powerful message penned on social media, the ‘King Of Kotha’ actress expressed her concern and also voiced her opinion on why one should bring up their children, making them aware of the world, and also giving them self defense lessons.
“My blood boils with extreme rage every time I read news articles about women, young girls and children getting molested, tortured, raped and brutally murdered. Tossed away and discarded like their life means nothing. The fact that I get a notification about something like this happening, every 2 hours is the part that freaks me out the most! The fact that s**t like this happens so often in our country, and to think that most of these cases don't even get reported!!! When will this stop??? ritika singh said in her note.
She also expressed her solidarity with the vicitims of such heinous crimes, “I wish people who commit these crimes had the heart to understand that when this happens to somebody, it changes them and leaves them scarred forever. There is no getting over it. The physical wounds may heal, but the scars on your soul remain forever. My heart goes out to every single person who is a victim of these heinous crimes and has to live with the aftermath of these incidents.”
In the note, ritika singh stressed the grave need of being fit, and trying to learn a martial art form, or take self defence. “What I'm going to say next is immensely sad, but it's a truth that we all know - it is the fact that most of us have been through it. On some or the other level, it has happened to all of us. Some of us were probably too naive to even realise that it happened. Please, take it upon you to look after yourself and get strong physically and mentally. Exercise, eat right, pick up a martial art form that gives you the confidence.”
