The script is written keeping in mind these two superstars!!!

Many films in indian cinema have been described as historical. The reason for this is that those films not only got a lot of love from the audience but they also made huge profits at the box office. One of those films is 'Mughal-e-Azam' which was released in 1960. In the film, the role of Salim was played by dilip kumar and the role of Anarkali was played by Madhubala. Both of them had brought that historical character alive on screen.

The pairing of dilip kumar and madhubala was already famous but their real-life chemistry was visible in this film. However, you will be surprised to know that K Asif did not make the film 'Mughal-e-Azam' keeping dilip kumar and madhubala in mind.

The story of the cast of 'Mughal-e-Azam' became famous

In august 2023, writer, director, and editor sunil Salgiya launched his book 'Once Upon a Time in Bollywood'. During this period many veteran actors and filmmakers also participated. Now, how can it be that a book written on bollywood is launched and there is no mention of the historical film 'Mughal-e-Azam'? While paying tribute to late filmmaker K Asif, sunil mentioned his blockbuster film 'Mughal-e-Azam'.

He had said that K Asif wasa veteran director who used to write most of the stories of his films himself. When he wrote 'Mughal-e-Azam', in his mind DK Sapru was suitable for the role of Salim and nargis for the role of Anarkali. According to the report of Times of India, when K Asif went to Sapru with the offer of the film and narrated him the script, he was in deep thought. It is said that whatever film Sapru signed, he did not sign it until he was satisfied with it. Sapru felt that he was not fit for this role, so he rejected K Asif. After this, the film was offered to dilip kumar and because dilip kumar was one of Asif's good friends, he said yes to the film only after half listening to the script.
