Pahalgam terror attack

The terrorist attack in pahalgam, Jammu, and kashmir has once again given rise to the demand for a boycott of Pakistani artists and their films, which started with Fawad Khan's upcoming hindi film 'Abir Gulaal'. At least 26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a terror attack at a major tourist spot in pahalgam in south kashmir on Tuesday.

Strict warning from FWICE

In a statement on Wednesday, the Federation of Western india Cine Employees (FWICE) once again demanded the indian film and entertainment industry not work with all Pakistani artists, singers, and technicians. FWICE, which has more than five lakh members, has warned that it will take strict action against those working with Pakistani artists.

Pakistani artists were boycotted

FWICE said, “Despite the directions already issued, we have recently been made aware of the casting of Pakistani actor fawad khan for the hindi film 'Abir Gulaal'. Given the recent attack in pahalgam, FWICE is once again compelled to boycott all Pakistani artists, singers, and technicians working on any indian film or entertainment project. This includes working or performing anywhere in the world.”

FWICE issued this directive in february 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred.
