Tamil political period drama “Parasakthi”, starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by sudha Kongara, is set for its OTT premiere after a successful theatrical run.
The film will begin streaming on ZEE5 from february 7.
It will also be available to viewers who subscribe through OTTplay Premium.
The movie generated strong buzz during its theatrical release and remained widely discussed due to its political theme and period backdrop.
“Parasakthi” marks one of the first big-budget tamil releases of 2026.
Directed and written by sudha Kongara, the film is considered a powerful and ambitious project in Sivakarthikeyan’s career.
Despite receiving mixed critical reviews, the film managed to attract steady audience turnout in theaters.
According to trade reports, the movie has earned approximately ₹85 crore worldwide at the box office.
Of this total, about ₹62 crore came from India, with the rest contributed by overseas markets.
With these numbers, it has already become one of the top-grossing tamil films of the year so far.
The film benefited significantly from its Pongal festival release window.
The absence of competing big releases — especially a major film like Jana Nayakan — helped boost its theatrical performance.
Audience word-of-mouth improved after the opening weekend, supporting sustained ticket sales.
The story is set in tamil Nadu during the 1950s and 1960s.
It focuses on the anti-Hindi imposition protests and the political student movements of that period.
The narrative centers on two brothers with opposing ideologies, whose lives change after a tragic turning point.
A student-led resistance group becomes central to the unfolding political struggle.
Ravi Mohan plays a negative role in the film
The supporting cast includes Atharvaa and Sreeleela in key roles.
Special guest appearances are made by Rana Daggubati, Basil Joseph, and Dali Dhananjay.
The film’s music is composed by gv prakash Kumar, adding to the period intensity and emotional weight.
Viewers who missed the theatrical run can now watch it at home via OTT starting february 7.
