India which is still struggling with the deadlier second wave of COVID-19 has just hosted the assembly elections 2021 in 5 states. Now, the while the tallying of votes to the legislative assemblies of West bengal (294 seats), tamil Nadu (234 seats), kerala (140 seats), puducherry (30 seats) and assam (160 seats) is underway, we already have a say on things. The mamata Banerjee-led trinamool congress (TMC) has already gained a majority by winning 196 of the 292 seats in West bengal and is returning as the chief minister for the third consecutive term. Even the DMK has won over AIADMK in tamil Nadu with 155 seats while the AIADMK has managed to secure 78 assembly constituencies. The Left Democratic Front retained power in kerala, cornering up to 97 seats while the AINRC-led nda will take power in union territory puducherry after winning 16 seats. The only bright spot for bjp is assam where it is poised to bag 74 seats.
