Kanyakumari, Vellore, Thiruvannamala , Ranipettai, Dharmapuri, Erode, Krishnagiri , Salem, Tirupati, and madurai districts will receive heavy rain with thundershowers in one or two locations due to the current air circulation in lakshadweep and adjoining areas (up to 1.75 km altitude). Many places in the Western Ghats and inland districts will have moderate to heavy rain.

For the next 40 hours, the sky will be partly cloudy in Chennai. In some parts of the city, mild to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is probable.
