Panneerselvam has become the Clean Bowled of all the yorkers thrown by Edappadi Palanisamy. After the demise of AIADMK Permanent General Secretary and former chief minister of tamil Nadu J Jayalalithaa, for the first time in the history of the AIADMK, a dual leadership emerged. O. Panneerselvam as Coordinator and Edappadi Palanisamy as Co-Coordinator.

AIADMK, which has been under dual leadership for about 4 years, is now moving towards single leadership. At a recent meeting of AIADMK district secretaries, O. Panneerselvam was baffled that Edappadi Palanisamy's supporters did not know what to do to ignite the issue of a single leadership.

Coordinator O. Panneerselvam has openly stated that there should be no single leadership for the time being and that the AIADMK is doing well under the dual leadership. However, Edappadi Palanisamy, through his supporters, spread the word through the media that the AIADMK needed a single leader.

As per the current situation in the AIADMK, the hand of Edappadi Palanisamy is on the rise. Most former ministers and senior executives all support him. As usual, the disappointment for O. Panneerselvam was overwhelming. Since O. Panneerselvam's signature is very important for the resolutions to be passed in the General assembly, the Edappadi Palanisamy faction is keen to bring him to the General assembly and buy OK.

After the ousting of the regime in the assembly elections, there was a fierce rivalry between O. Panneerselvam and Edappadi Palanisamy over who would be the leader of the Opposition. At that time, Edappadi Palanisamy used his skills to move Kai through his supporters against O. Panneer Selvam and, in a way, persuaded him to snatch the post of leader of the Opposition. No one can deny the fact that O. Panneerselvam is nominally in charge of the AIADMK coordinator.
