According to The Financial Times, Wachtell was called by the lawyers for the adani Group at the Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas company. According to the Financial Times, Cyril Shroff, who owns the indian company, is married to gautam Adani's oldest son.
Elon Musk and Twitter's $44 billion deal was handled by the same firm:
Twitter Inc. commissioned Wachtell to sue Elon Musk in order to compel him to complete the $44 billion acquisition of the social media business.
Wachtell previously belonged to a team that represented Musk and the tesla Inc. board against a shareholder lawsuit over the electric vehicle manufacturer's $2.6 billion acquisition of the solar panel maker SolarCity.
Court documents show that Musk's Wachtell lawyers departed the lawsuit in 2019.
